International Rankings - April 1, 2007

With 9 of the top 10 from February's ranking remaining in the top ten, with Spain dropping out and Belgium entering the top 10. The consistancy of MZ's top nations are paying dividends in this months rankings. The main change between this and February's ranking is that the ranking points gained from the 2004 World Cup has been taken out and the recent qualifiers have been factored in. Nations such as France (ranked 12, now 35th) Germany (ranked 17th, now 31st) and Scotland (ranked 30, now 44th) have taken a massive hit in their ranking after their points from their 2004 World Cup runs have been removed.

2006 World Champions, Greece taken over the number 1 spot. Not guaranteed a place in the 2007 Finals and currently lying 3rd, needing a win against Estonia on April 3 to have any chance of making it to the finals.

Switzerland, Brazil and China all break into this month's top 20 after excellent starts to their World Cup Qualifying campaign.

The biggest climbers in this group of 10 is Israel's climb from 36th to 21st and Uruguay climbing from 37th to 23rd.

With three of the top 20 nations in last months ranking now ranking below 30th, it goes to how a bad run of form can dramatically change your world ranking. Bulgaria's raise from 42nd to 36th being the biggest climb out of the 10 nations.

79th to 48th, that's how much a good qualifying campaign can affect your World Ranking. Malaysia were unranked and given the preliminary position of 79th and now break into the top 50. Scotland drop 14 places after their seeing their run to the last 16 in 2004 being taking out of the calculations.
